In September, Charlie Crist was ahead of Governor Scott by 12 (!) according to PPP.
It's also worth noting that Obama's approval in the Sunshine State is just 44% according to the poll and Obamacare's approval in the state is only 40%, with 62% saying its implementation has been unsuccessful.

Scott gains 10 points on Crist
PPP's newest look at the Florida Governor's race finds that it has tightened considerably over the last three months. What was a 12 point lead for Charlie Crist over incumbent Rick Scott in September at 50/38 is now just a 2 point advantage at 43/41.
The movement since the fall has come largely as a result of Republican voters rallying around Scott and continuing to decline in their affection for Crist. Scott now leads by 66 points with the GOP base at 80/14, compared to only a 44 point advantage on previous poll at 65/21. That shift with Republicans accounts for almost the entire 10 point movement in Scott's direction over the last few months

Not to mention the approvals for Scott is far lower than Obama. Scott is at 34% approve 51% disapprove. If he is anywhere near that on Election Day he will get obliterated.
I guess losing by 2% is what passes for good news for the Florida GOP these days...
OMG, being down by 2 with all this time to go, is a far cry from losing. Let's see what the polls show in about 8 months or so. Democrats will search and do anything to try and prove how bad the Republicans are in some states. Don't get too excited yet!!!!u

Uh, Democrats don't need to search to find anything to prove how bad Rick Scott is. He's done that all by himself with his unpopular policies. A fair number of Republican FL legislators aren't too crazy about him, either.
Paul LePage of Maine is another very unpopular GOP governor. The only way he's going to win reelection if the Democrats are split and an independent candidate strong enough to pull away votes from the Dems or vice versa - that's actually how LePage got into the governor's office in the 1st place.

Hilarious.
A Republican starts a thread gloating about how wonderful it is that an incumbent Republican Governor is losing to a Democratic challenger who has done absolutely nothing yet in his campaign...
