For those of you which don't remember, there was a US Presidential Election not so long ago in which Ron Paul was running for office and the media not only blatently shut him out of debates, but also they latched onto and publicised an idea that he published racist articles years earlier in a newsletter that had his name on it.

Well it's interesting; I just came across a video of Ron Paul being interviewed by Jesse Ventura (new show: Off the Grid) which reminded me of these prior allegations and how they turned the tide against Ron Paul when he was campaigning, so I decided to follow-up with some research to see what the heck came of them. This video is the only one which truly answers the question:
Ron Paul's "Racist Writings" DEBUNKED. Real Author: James B. Powell exposed by Ben Swann & TMOT - YouTube

I hope you all take the time to watch the video and then to think about how many lies are told to US Citizens on a regular basis to feed into agendas of those who want to stay in power. After watching the video it is very clear that the allegations were made up as a smear campaign against Ron Paul (he otherwise had no real chinks in his armor) by the powers that be.

Not surprising. Those that like Dr Paul knew the truth from the beginning those that hate Dr Paul even now will never admit they were wrong.

Nah, the tide turned against him because he's a flake.

You mean the only candidate who correctly predicted the economic crash and told us the reasons why? You mean the only candidate who correctly predicted a 9/11 type attack because of our foreign policy?
He's not the flake here.
Truth is treason in an empire of lies.

regardless of what happened or what the truth was, Paul was not going to get the nomination. Someone said he was a flake, I disagree about that, but he didn't do much as a congressman and I don't think he would have been easy to work with if you were on the other side. He never stood a chance at becoming President. His sole reason for running was to try and get some of his points across.

It didn't turn the tide. Whether people like to recognize it or not, the neo-cons, big government social conservatives, and state-corporate fusion folks still are a majority in the GOP and a sizable one. Paul would have had a better chance running as a Democrat and even then not much of one. At the very least, as is apparent by Obama beating the 2008 establishment Democratic machine that was behind Hillary, Democrats don't rig primaries.

Seattle Times reporter/columnist Bruce Ramsey did an in-depth article on the question for the now-defunct Liberty magazine.

http://www.libertyunbound.com/sites/...April_2008.pdf

It's a PDF so you have to enter page 21 to read the article. Ramsey is a libertarian, but IMO has unrivaled journalistic integrity, and would not come to the defense of a racist. If Ramsey, after looking at the facts of the case, concluded that Ron Paul was a racist, you can be sure that Ramsey would have said like gtc08, 'screw him.' You'll have to read the article to see Ramsey's conclusion.

Exactly. When this man was put under the microscope during the campaign, he turned out to be a REPULSIVE, bigoted, ignorant man. His being mentioned here after he was soundly rejected is about as pathetic as the mention of Palin.

There is no place in this society for bigots like Paul...or his son.
