He won just 557 electoral votes, 17 above the minimum required (in 2 races), and did so with 44% of the Latino vote.

With the GOP dropping 17% of that Latino share, Obama won with a total of 157 electoral votes to spare (2 races).

In short, the GOP cannot win POTUS w/o regaining Latino share lost. They have won less than 39% of electoral college in 24 years. They have no EC votes to spare! NONE!!!!,

But many conservatives have convinced themselves that Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz will take over 44% of the Latino vote and win the White House!

They also can't win unless they present a compelling candidate who will motivate the Republican base to come out.

And that's the key. Catering to the moderates like they did in 08 and 12 didn't work. Republican moderates like Megan McCain insisted that they would turn out in droves and sweep Romney into the WH- any other 2012 candidate wasn't going to do it.

Instead, the GOP needs to change the electoral calculus and get a candidate who will motivate and educate voters in every region to promote change. Nominating a "me-too" candidate who is identical to the other party's offering is a sure trip to the political graveyard.

The majority of Hispanics are very religious.
Ted Cruz has proved he can pull the Hispanic and Latino votes.
The truth is rather compelling, when your candidate has no dirt to confuse the voters with.
Hillary, has a lot of dirt and in the catholic church, the woman always walks behind the man.

Oh here we go again reading between the lines suggesting that the GOP thumb their noses at our immigration laws for the Latino vote. As I have often said, most Latinos will vote Democrat anyway because they have already promised amnesty and they like most minorities like the socialism of the Democrat party.

First off, our politicians are supposed to consider the best interests of Americans as a whole not some special interest group who doesn't. Second, only 10 million Latinos voted in the last election and their votes are a drop in the bucket compared to all non-Latino voters. It is blacks and liberal whites that will carry the Democrats to victory not Latinos. I think most Americans are fed up with Obama and the Democrat this time around to carry a GOP victory. The only way they will lose with conservatives is to be pro-amnesty not the other way around as the left and ethnocentrics claim.

The Hispanics here in Texas, that are not 1st, or 2nd generation from south of the border, hate the illegal aliens.
They vote.

American people come first. Our US Constitution demands this of our government and the reason we have a government in the first place.

People of the world don't come first, as is the policy now. With the US tax payer funding the bill.

They sound like typical Republicans...lucky enough to attain citizenship (you can bet their older generations included illegal aliens) and then not sending the elevator back down for the next group. It's the "I've got mine, ********* mentality." We shall see how well that plays out in the upcoming elections.

Oh, I see if Hispanics dare fall off the amnesty wagon they are ethnic traitors and just must be Republicans? The rule of law shouldn't apply to them? There are millions of Hispanics here whose ancestors never came here illegally. " I've got mine"? Is that what you call being a citizen of this country and that means we owe illegal aliens a pass on our immigration laws? I respect Hispanics who don't have that tribal mentality but put our nation and our citizens first. Apparently, you don't! Such arrogance to think that any anti-laws Hispanics make or break our elections.
