So I watched a recent interview with him, and he has me intrigued. He sounds reasonable, and has great ideas. He said he would make a decision on May 28th. I would like to hear more from him.
What scares me is how many of these people take such simplistic views that we'll just send troops, bang! bang!. it's over and they'll be home in 6 months attitude.

I think the draft should come back. Only then will people really think about sending troops into harms way. Very few people have a close family member in the armed services. Its unfair that a segment of our population bears the burden of fighting for our country. Then when they return, we dont give them the services they need.

If only. From what I see, those who do the sending have a mystical ability to ensure it's not their own who get sent. I saw enough of the BS during the Vietnam era to make me a devout non-interventionist for the rest of my life.
Not going anywhere, his campaign if he does run will never get off the ground. He hasn't been in office since 2006. While he hasn't been completely out of the spotlight, being out of office that long is too much for anything to ever come from it.
Basically, if he wasn't in NY and the national news media wasn't there, no one would care. Politicians from NY think everybody knows and thinks highly of them because the national news media falls all over them and puts them on TV just because they are in the same place, NY. Another example is Congressman Peter King who gets more attention than is warranted just because of his location.

It really has nothing to do with being in NY. There are other former Governor's whose names have been thrown around. Pataki really hasn't received much attention.
As far as King (who unfortunately is my Congressman) him being from NY isn't really the reason he has gotten the attention. King is a loudmouth, loudmouths tend to get more attention than they deserve regardless of where they represent.

Chickenhawks just love to send other people's kids off to fight wars that they start.
