He brought up some fair points and no way that reporter would ask Hillary if she had animosity towards gays when she recently opposed gay marriage. However, I wish that 'small government GOP' types would take government out of gay marriage.
Liberals will now whine he hates degenerates as he never answered the question. Hillary could pull the same tactic and liberals will swoon in ecstasy but not from a GOP candidate.
Not my choice for our next leader but he handled himself well. And I respect his answer - there are more pressing matters in today's society than Gay Rights and Global warming. We won't have to worry about either if we don't start concentrating on the real problems.
If you are someone who bashes him for the way he answered the question, you're an ideological dimwit.
Much like Cruz, you've got that exactly backwards.
It cracks me up that he asked if the reporter was "obsessed with sex." It's a fabulous tactic, used extremely well by RWNJs, both in local and national politics as well as on this forum.
If there's any one group fanatically obsessed with sex, of enacting laws to put government officials squarely in our bedrooms, it's the religious right.
But Cruz immediately assumes the position that the exact opposite is the truth, and says it in a manner sufficiently artful so as to sway the weak-minded among us.
"Is there something about the left, and I'm going to put the media in this category..." oh, really? It's going to come as quite a shock to FOX "News" that they are on the political left.
"Scripture commands us to love everybody." I was going to say that I'm amazed he can say that with a straight face, but I'm not. The undisputed experts at twisting words - especially those in the Bible - live WAY over on the right.
Cruz *sounds* smart to those who aren't really listening. All I hear is the same old, dumb, hateful crap that flows so freely from the right.
So basically, he has to compare himself to terrorists to seem like less of a hate monger.
I find it really disturbing that people can think there's anything 'intellectual' about anything he has said... but then I know how bright the average city-data right winger is, so it doesn't surprise me.
Cruz continues to impress me. The guy is brilliant.
