Awwwww, another bleeding heart liberal fluff piece to make people feel so sorry for ILLEGAL CRIMINALS BREAKING THE LAW. I swear this country has gone completely off the rails.
Awwwwww, another Conservative trying to divert attention away from the blatent hypocrisy of one of their cadidates. The article is about Trump--you remember him, that great champion of stricter laws against illegals crossing the border to take American jobs--has guess who building his bright, shiny new Washington hotel? You guess it, illegal aliens who crossed the border to take American jobs. I guess Trump wants to be one of those "do as I say, not as I do" presidents, huh? If it saves HIM money, illegal workers are A-OK, but not for anyone else.
If one didn't know Trump from before this latest run for president one would think he simply had to be running a parody campaign designed to illlustrate how to be an utterly ridiculous candidate. But alas, Trump is for real.
People who enjoy a good farce are getting yet another an Emmy-worthy primary season from the right. Thanks, guys!
You really think a multi billionaire personally hires people for his projects?
nope. i good manager puts responsible people in positions of authority and then delegates his needs/wants. in this scenario trump either put an incompetent in charge of overseeing the project or he never expressed that illegal aliens should not be working on the project.

i did. you believe it's the government's responsibility. my belief is that if trump is going to raise a stink about illegal immigration he better make damn sure that he isn't directly benefitting from it ( which he didn't ).

Well like I said, whats he supposed to do? Illegals don't wear shirts saying Illegal on them. You start asking to see immigration papers and the Mexicans fly off the handle, accuse you of racial profiling, stereotyping and being a racist. So you tell us, how do you go about making sure you don't hire an illegal?
It's the job of the contractor to determine if they are legal and with rampant document fraud that is not as easy as it sounds. Very few states require e-verify:

i managed a couple restaurants back in my younger days. required photo ID and SS# copied on file from all employees. had many mexicans on staff. never had your scenario play out once.

The management company appears to be huge, managing construction projects all over the world.
