I am sick of some of the praise that I have seen from other conservatives regarding Jim Webb. Sure, Webb has the courage to criticize the Democrats for moving much to far to the left (see the link below), but back when he was in the Senate, Webb had a chance to prove he was a real independent by voting against ObamaCare. Instead, he cast the decisive vote in favor of ObamaCare, which emboldened a whole generation of left-wing nut jobs. If Webb has any regrets about how bat$h!t crazy the Democrats have become, he should know that he helped to create this monster.

Honestly, any conservative praise of Webb strikes me as totally ignorant (because conservatives seem to forget his vote on ObamaCare) or as simply phony praise that is motivated for political reasons. (By praising Webb--who has zero chance of becoming president--we conservatives can then point out how extreme Hillary and the rest of the Democrats are.) I have seen this game played before, back when it was the Democrats who were the ones giving the bogus praise (as they did with John McCain, Jon Hunstman, and Chris Christie).

They don't like Webb per se.

They just want a Democrat to challenge Hillary, hoping to turn the Democratic primaries into a quasi-clown show like what's going on currently on the GOP side (and how it was in 2012).

But unfortunately for them, it will not work. Hillary is a solid front-runner.

Which is scary, considering that she failed dismally as Secretary of State, and sustained a head injury which incapacitated her for months. One only hopes she chooses her VP wisely. It is a real possibility that Hill will lose track of her marbles when she has to face reality not as a victim or an aggrieved spouse, but as chief executive.

Hillary vs. Putin? Hillary in a hijab facing the ayatollahs? One cringes.

There's a lot of Angela Lansbury in Hillary. All she needs is a little push into the abyss.

No politician has a perfect record, and none ever will.

If in the opinion of some voters, Mr. Webb is less objectionable (although not perfect) than his opponents, what's wrong with saying it?

Granted that the GOP race is a clown show, but so is the Democratic race, now that a socialist is attracting large crowds. While Hillary will obviously be the nominee, she is pandering as hard as she can to the Democratic base of left-wing nut jobs (many of whom are suspicious of her). If Hillary actually becomes president, a major rift in the party will likely occur if Hillary fails to deliver on her laundry list of progressive promises.

I clearly would prefer Webb over any nutjob in the Democratic Party, but I hate it when some conservatives actually say they would consider voting for Webb as president. This is disingenuous, because his decisive vote on ObamaCare is an unforgivable sin in any conservative's eyes.

It's easy for some people to say that they would consider voting for someone in the opposite party when that politician has zero chance of becoming president. But we have seen that people always change their tunes when a previously "acceptable" politician of the other party has a realistic chance of becoming president; witness the about-face the Democrats did on McCain and Christie. (The only reason why the Democrats still continue to offer bogus praise for Huntsman is because he never had a realistic chance of winning the Republican nomination in 2012.)

Nah. She'll just blame it on those darned obstructionist elephants.

Your 'opinion' is rather heavy-handed. It sounds extremely fascistic telling people what they should think, or that they are "ignorant" because you don't like what they think.

Why won't conservatives allow freedom of thought? Is it the 'control freak' thing?
