I dont know any Democrats(even conservative ones) who support Trump.
he does resonated with the Right wingers int he Republican party though.
Well, to be precise, as I noted before, Trump's support is driven by less-educated white males. Beyond that, there's very little real support. If he can make it through the primary, he has no legitimate path to victory; that's what scares the GOP leaders:
Though, Trump has always supported Democratic policies so he could conceivably pivot in the general election into a Bloomberg-esque moderate. Either way, he'll need more sophisticated policy solutions beyond "build a wall and bomb 'em".
We tried that with Bush and learned the hard way we need more sophisticated minds in charge to address our complex problems.
I heard capacity was 45,000 and they have 42,000 rsvp so far. Either way, it's gonna be HUGEEEEEEEEE lol
We watched part of it, both on CNN and FOX; I just can't believe the media would cover such a thing. BTY, according to FOX as the event was about to start there were about 12,000 in the audience. That still is still unbelievable.
If you have to stretch out to 1,000 miles that's a bit of a stretch.
The point is moot anyway. It was 30,000 so Trump beat Sanders even in Portland.
First off, i didnt stretch it. the MSA defined by the census for portland is 1,358.1 miles, the MSA for Mobile Alabama is 576.9 miles.
Metropolitan statistical Areas are not equal in land mass. They are calculated by what the government perceives to be areas influenced by the core city. Mobile has 2 small cities(one to the east, one to the West) that are both considered their own MSA's but would be with in the radius of Portland.
There for, you can not compare MSA's simply by population.
And As I already stated, there were not 30,000 people in that stadium, it was 18,000
I know plenty of Democrats who do support Trump. And I know many many Independents (who will decide this election) who do too.
You've yet to answer the question why - Why do they support Trump? Beyond making brash misogynistic and bigoted comments, what exactly about his policies do the people you know find appealing?
And do they really believe he's suddenly conservative after decades of being a liberal?
I live 32 miles from the stadium and local news counted as well as showed the empty half of the stadium.
But you also think Mobile Alabama and Portland, Oregon are equivalant cities. You even made an argument they were. So your personal anecdote of what you think you saw is irrelevant.
Perhaps you haven't found any democrats that would support Trump, but I have. Not just a couple,, but several... I am not sure I support him yet, but the ground swell is impressive to this point. I never dreamed he would still be here, but he is. Will he get the nomination? No-one knows, but he does have a pretty substantial start. If you dismiss him as a candidate, I now believe you do so at your own peril. I dismissed him initially, but have since come to realize that he is a legitimate contender. Will he get my vote? Time will tell.
