^^^ Yes, Venezuela, Argentina, Greece, and Spain are good examples of failed attempts.

The only countries that have been somewhat successful when it comes to implementing the European socialist system are the scandinavian countries but the standard of living is not like in the Unite States. People have less and have to pay more for things. Healthcare isn't as great as some say. You have to wait for everything and after a certain age expensive procedures aren't done, Spain is the same way.

I don't think many of the people that are in favor of free college tuition are willing to give up their cars and many other items that they take for granted to pay for an increase in taxes.
Hahaha!

Where do you get this nonsense from?

Everyone making $35 000 can get a car in Germany or the Scandinavian countries. That's the minimum wage in Scandinavian countries. The cheapest new cars cost less than $10 000 in Germany and $18 000 in Scandinavia incl. all taxes. A 2-year old car would be less than half that.

Bernie only likes to say all the goodies you'll get, but doesn't say the sacrifices everyone would have to make. He simply misleads the naive that he can give them everything by just taxing the wealthy lol.
What I don't understand is how we can afford trillions of dollars to bail out the banks, trillions more for 3-4 never ending wars but we can't afford educations?

Please explain.

There is always endless amount of money for wars, military, police, mass surveillance and corporate welfare. Spending on human needs like education, support for the elderly and child care is not something the mouthpieces of the special interests get paid to promote.

You are aware that social spending is the bulk of federal spending each year, no?

I care about total spending from all governments. Almost as much money is spent on prisons as higher education in many states. It's sickening. The health care spending is also to a very large degree corporate welfare for the health care companies.

Deport illegal alien criminals.

And health care spending? Obamacare structured that specifically to benefit health care companies, so why are you complaining about that?

This ^^^. Bernie has taken the best elements of some countries, including China, and left out the down side.

Why send people to college "free" when there aren't jobs for them when they graduate? They want to decrease the military so unemployment would grow from doing that not to mention that only the biggest fool would choose this time in history to decrease the military.

If you want the education, work to get it. Everyone I know got it that way.

Bernie will appeal to the young and naive, those with little motivation to work to better themselves or the older hippies like Bernie, himself. I can see the appeal in the country due to the ever growing problem of people not taking "personal" responsiblity for themselves.

In my opinion, we are already giving away too much for free!

How are you prepared to 'guarantee' anything? Its the voters, not you alone, who create that guarantee.

If we as a society mean to keep our technological and social advantages over other nations, we have to have a steady supply of young people with advanced educations to do it.
Since our society is not bound by restrictions of class, wealth, or heritage, it only stands to reason that the more qualified kids who apply for college should be granted the opportunity to learn what they need to get an advanced education.

They will be the ones who keep all the others who aren't qualified on the job working for everyone's mutual benefit.

If Denmark is not getting its full rewards from offering feed education to all, that's their problem, not ours. After all, they still have a Queen. We do not. That's only one of the many differences between Denmark and the United States.

That sounds like you endorse merit scholarships. I hope you understand that merit scholarships are currently déclassé, and now scholarships are awarded almost exclusively on "financial need." Of course, that means we don't get the best and brightest anymore. We just get the financially neediest.
