Liberal feminists in New York are lashing out at longtime ally Ted Kennedy, accusing him of the "ultimate betrayal."
The New York chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) asserts Senator Kennedy's (D-Massachusetts) endorsement of presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) "has really hit women hard." In a statement, NOW's New York affiliate rebukes the liberal lion of the Senate for joining what they call "the list of progressive white men who can't or won't handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton."

Incredible that this very petty organization would get so unglued because a prominent and seasoned politician recognized that Obama was far Hillary's superior. They better get used to it because many are recognizing this in increasing numbers and choosing the better candidate: Obama!
Obama has been running his whole campaign using his own identity as a sort of trump against indentity politics. Definitely "anti-identity" politics. In fact initially Hillary got far more black votes in the North. If Barak wins, it will be the end of identity politics because by default half the country is not black, but you can't say the same about women.
I'm not anti-Hillary, either (I was an Edwards supporter... now I'm neutral). I think Hillary would be a good president, I'm just not anti-Obama either.
The NOW is going to advance the cause of women by writing nasty letters to a Senator for not endorsing a candidate because she is sans Adam's Apple? Perhaps Kennedy did not endorse Sen. Clinton because he disagreed with her politically, or perhaps he prefered Obama more. My guess seems to be just as good as the NOW.
