Basically all swing voters, independents and disaffected partisans will stick with Trump no matter what.

This will be devastating to both political parties because all they will have left will be their hard core partisans.

Poll: 68% of Trump

I still wonder if this wasn't his end game all along.
It all but insures somebody else will be left with the heavy lifting in the White House and he walks away with a "victory" and free rein to be a harpy on whatever subjects he chooses for as long as he desires without consequence.

Trump could win election as a third party candidate and this maybe the start of a third party long overdo to bring the other two back in line to represent we the people. That would be sweet !!!

So that's 68% of his 30% poll numbers - which means just 20% of GOP voters or 10% of all voters. That's before yesterday's Muslim comments and will get lower as he gets wackier, independent, and totally free of GOP politically correct restraints.

I'm sure he's going to go third party.

Beat me to it. The math simply doesn't work.

Nope. You don't consider Independents, Swing Voters, and disaffected partisans who are sick of both parties. They are the ones who decide elections.

Can't do math with bad assumptions.

At this point, I think it would be better for the Republican Party just to kick him out of the running and launch a smear campaign linking Clinton and Trump together.

You're right Waldo, but when the numbers aren't there, they aren't there regardless of assumptions.

Still doesn't work. His base is more right wing than left wing and he'll just wind up spitting the GOP vote and letting the Democrat cruise to victory.
Can you imagine Bush vs Trump vs Hillary? Hillary wins.
