The people do not place the 2 candidates on the main stage. The party does.
If the establishment party doesn't like who the people choose, they change it to who they wish. It does not matter which party. People do not place them on the presidential ballot. Only on the primary ballots(or "not on the ballot" in my case last time) The parties run and choose. Not the people.

Ron Paul was a Republican, not Libertarian Party.
He is a Constitutionalist, in its original intent.
