Much ado about nothing. It was a poor choice of words, that is completely accurate, if they try and whittle him down he will tear them up. The only way he is going down is with a serious serious scandal. And maybe not even then.

Since he was obviously just using colorful language and not condoning some sort of assassination, I really don't think it's a big deal at all. It's quite clear what he meant, and he shouldn't have to apologize because people have become hypersensitive.
