You just want someone else to pick up your tab and have Bernie be your gunman.
Agree with you on the wars and foreign adventures, but not sure the burn will end either.

No one has paid into ANYTHING.. Social Security money is a TAX.. Stop feeding the garbage..

I certainly support it.

it is a great ad, except I'm not aware of any candidate proposing to cut and/or abolish Social Security.

Social Security is BROKE.. how exactly can you strengthen it by increasing the expenditure?

yes, but lifting the cap, doesnt mean you become flush with money, especially enough to increase all sorts of benefits.

The top 1% will finally be paying their fair share. They have
been getting huge financial breaks for 35 years ! This is
going to stop. Their money will help make our infrastructure
strong and support our social security and medicare systems.

A few points. Social Security payout isn't based on what others pay in but what you pay in. You're paying for your own future SS. This means it isn't "the hard workers paying for the lazy" which is how many criticize social safety nets. Next, SS wouldn't be broke if politicians would leave the money alone and not use it for other things. Its a sound program in theory. Finally, Republicans should be all for lifting the cap on income subject to payroll tax because they seem to love the flat tax idea, right? Why should the tax stop once you reach a certain income level?

I would love to know the (doubtless very valid) reasoning behind the $118,500 cap on paying in to social security. That's not a lot of money for an annual income these days, and MANY people exceed that early on in the year.

If social security received 6% of what folks make over 118.5K it would be a whole lot healthier.

This is not the thread for this issue, but it's what I'm thinking as I read the thread. Forgive me...
