Once in awhile I visit Politics1.com to look at the different political parties or to see who's running from the various third parties, and was surprised to see so many Democrats and Republicans running or having formed exploratory committees to possibly run for President. Over 100 from each of those two parties.

2016 Presidential Candidates (Presidency 2016)

Guess with the amount of money involved in campaigns most of those who are running or just formed exploratory committees had no shot of really getting their voices heard. Have to believe both parties have better candidates running that most of us don't even know about, than what we see up on stage at the debates. There has to be a better way of selecting our leaders than only having access to those who can attract big money from big money donors.

Can't say I'm disillusioned, because I'm haven't been that naive for a long time, if ever, to believe politics was a fair game for the candidates or the voters.

You have a good point.

We need a better system to produce good candidates.

Even the beauty pageants produce a better selection for their contest.
They start out with hundreds and get to one. Politics start out with 20 and narrow it down to the biggest looser.
