Seems McCain is pushing it under the rug- no surprise there. Does Huckabee really have a chance? I would vote for anyone who is decisive (and enforces) on this issue alone.

I support giving citzenship to current illegal immigrants. There is no point of them going home, since they have been here for a long time.

I was seeing a illegal immigrant story on CNN and that guy went back to mexico from some western state(oklahoma?), leaving his wife(american citzen) and kids(citzen) because he was afraid of been caught. He came here when he was just 4 or 5 something and had lived in america for more than 25+ years in U.S.
I don't think that these kind of people should leave, I mean come on. I am 21 year old, compared to him (who spent 25 years in U.S)---he seems more american then me----if you only do the time spent in america and not birth stuff(which of course counts)

However, we should have a fence and a border security on our border before granting citzenship.

See I disagree Jessica.. If a man was raping you for 20 years, would you expect him to be punished once caught?

See these people broke the law in coming here, and have in a sense raped our country of benefits, taxes, jobs and so on.. so when they are caught they should be punished.. luckily it is just to be sent home right now.

I agree just because they've gotten away with a crime for 20+ years shouldn't mean the law should be lenient on them the opposite. Are you telling me they have been living here in America all that time and haven't paid a cent in taxes? I should be so lucky! I'll be the first to say I don't know much about illegal immigration however, if you're illegal are you paying taxes? Here's my problem with this election, no candidate is really saying what I want to hear. There's entirely too many illegal immigrants here collecting Social Security benefits and they've obviously haven't contributed a cent to it. The chances of Social Security being around when I retire are very slim but when you throw millions of people who haven't contributed to it in the mix it almost guarantees it. So why are they taking it out of my check if I'm never going to see it again? It seems that all of the candidates are too busy trying to keep things status quo and doing nothing about protecting US citizens. I would really like to see one of them address this, it's a much bigger issue than whether or not a fence should be put up.

Why would ANY candidate jeopardize that very touchy hispanic vote by alienating their people with talk of a mass immigration bill? This would not be a good move when vying for votes and delegates.
