In an effort to attract younger voters and appeal to younger crowds, it seems like the norm is to act like total idiots? Yes, Trump (who is a RINO) is the most obnoxious of this whole campaign. But it doesn't end with the current people running for office.

For example, there's some 20-something year old obnoxious conservative so called YouTube armchair pundit named Steven Crowder who runs a show called "Louder with Crowder". He behaves worse than Trump and says worse things. He has absolutely no class whatsoever. He is overtly racist towards blacks (whom he disingenuously calls "Japanese"), asians, hispanics, and native americans, disrespectful towards women who have sex before marriage (calls them floosies and slutshames them for anything), hates catholics and muslims, brings on gays and lesbians to make fun of them on his show... and he wants to be the talking head / face of the GOP to attract younger people.

Young people watch this and wonder if this is what the Republican party stands for! It most certainly does not! I was a teen in the 80s and I remember growing up in times when we used to say we were Republican with a sense of pride.

Yeah, the GOP party is dead... this is what it's attracting. It's embarrassing. Classless morons who don't hold a candle to the "Gentlemen of yesteryear." You might not agree with all of Reagan's policies but he was a gentleman in the way he carried himself with dignity and respect.

What the heck happened? Makes me sad, indeed. I used to consider myself a moderate Republican but I really feel betrayed by my own party.

America needs a conservative party that does not try to appeal to the irrational, emotional and bigoted. This party would fight hard for its candidates in elections and advance its vision and policies for the direction the country should take. However, it would not demonize Democrats and liberals. It would embrace them as fellow Americans with a different perspective. It would try to work with everyone, no matter what party they are from, to enact good policy. It would unite behind Democratic presidents and assume the role of the loyal opposition. If this party were in power today it would be working with Obama to find a Supreme Court justice who was acceptable - it wouldn't refuse to even meet with any potentional nominees. When it was in power, it would expect the Democratic Party to unite behind it, and Democrats would. They have shown time and again they are willing to compromise. It would be nice if they had a sensible, adult party to compromise with.

Thats not conservative, that would be a "moderate" party. A conservative party would be made of people like Cruz, statesman who put the people and the Constitution before party and all else (like our founding fathers) not politicians. Thats the kind of party this country needs. Compromise leads to Obama's $2 billion spending bill. Compromise leads to unconstitutional gun laws. Compromise leads to a terrorist nation like Iran getting $150 billion. When it comes to this country and the Constitution, there should NEVER be compromise.

For the third presidential election in a row, the issue of illegal immigration seems to be tearing the Republican Party apart.

And for the third presidential election in a row, the GOP does not have any credible candidate that addresses the issue.

They either have wishy-washy "moderates", or jokers who pretend to be hard on illegal immigration (i.e., Romney, Trump), who have absolutely no credibility. Romney had illegals working in his Boston mansion. Trump was even found guilty in a court of law for hiring illegal immigrants, and illegals continue to work on his properties to this day.... which just highlights the absurdity even further.

How can a bunch of GOP stuffed suits (the suits have been replaced with clown outfits) ever compete with the laid back Bernie and Hillary who are promising them 4 more years of laying about, being hip, smokin weed and if you feel up to it attending college for FREE!

The Old time Republicans made this country work but the Democrats let people relax. Bernie and his socialism will let everyone just kick back which is great until the money runs out.

The GOP are the strict parents and Hillary and Bernie are the cool grandparents set on spoiling the children.

How can the Reps compete with that?

It always warms my heart when Republicans make a determined effort to learn absolutely nothing from their myriad failures...
