I'm older than dirt and remember that JKF's assassination and the assassination attempts on both Ford and Reagan all involved weapons.
That the Secret Service reacted quickly and appropriately to a perceived threat does not mean it was an assassination attempt.
Until we know more about this incident and unless an investigation reveals it was an actual attempt upon Trump's life, it cannot be labelled an assassination attempt.
What does it take? A weapon? Do we know he didn't have any? May be even a knife. What happened to day is extremely worrisome. He was within point black range a of dozens people. I hear that lunatic who could easily have carried a gun is out on bail. Unbelievable!
Either Hilary or Rubio was behind this. It's a total conspiracy and not a random nut job.

Many of you were not even alive when Ronald Reagan took a bullet in an assassination attempt.
Same thing then as in this video.
From out of nowhere someone jumps forward, headed for a high profile figure.
How in a split second would one know if the person is armed?
The person that shot Reagan was close enough to kiss him.
At least this jerk jumping over the fence to get at Trump was far enough away from him for the secret service to protect him.
That was not the case with Reagan.

Guy who is most likely mentally ill and who for reasons we'll never fathom fixated upon Sanders and Trump. No weapon, thank goodness. There's nothing to see here folks, move on.
That would depend on if he had a weapon.
If he did, you can rest assured he will be charged.
No he won't be charged with murder. He didn't attempt to assassinate. Just having a weapon doesn't mean he was going to use it. 2nd Amendment rights - don't you rightwingers encourage people to own guns?
