I know. That's the real question. What in heaven's name was a black man doing at a racist, bigoted, xenophobic, Trump rally full of angry white dudes and their Stepford Wives?
After reading this entire thread, the prevailing consensus was that the black man was a thug.
My honest question is what exactly, defined him as a thug?
He was sitting there peacefully, he was not violent in any way and when asked to leave he obligingly walked out with no resistance.
Does giving your opinion in the form of a finger salute make you a thug?
Does going to a rally and voicing your opinion make you a thug?
Or is it just a matter of being black at a gathering of hate filled white racists automatically make you a thug?
Not sure what point you're trying to make. The incident was caught on several cellphones from various angles and uploaded long before he made any statements, it was a straight-out sucker punch, there'd be no way or reason for him to hide or deny it. Why do you think he should be embarrassed?
What does "not saying it's right" but then trashing the victim mean? Are you seriously saying age is an acceptable excuse for punching someone in the face? I'm 67 years old. If you were walking down the street, trash-talking my candidate while looking away from me, does that give me the right to punch you in the face? Would you feel ashamed because an old woman, whom you never even saw, sucker-punched you? And how would you feel if 4 cops then wrestled you to the ground and removed you from the street while letting me go my merry way? Assault laws are on the books for a reason..

All I'm saying is there was a time, and being the age you are you should know it, when a young man being punched by a 78 year old was akin to being punched by a girl in terms of your peers. They would tease their friend unmercifully. That's all I'm commenting on. My first reaction was "Holy Crappoly, a 78 year old took a swing at somebody!"
And yes, if I was a young guy I would be embarrassed that an old lady punched me only because I know I would never hear the end of it from my young guy friends.
Me, I'm lucky that I can walk these days. No swinging here. I'd lose my balance.

I think you missed the point of what the others are saying.
This isnt some guy jumping into another mans face and getting beat up, this was a man walking by and getting sucker punched.
Sarah Palin said the Trump campaign doesn't have time for punk ass thuggery but apparently it does. This cowardly thug who waits until a man is detained to take a swing is a disgrace. A thug like that has no doubt been a pos lowlife his entire life. Oh but he's all white so that makes it alright in some people's eyes. Not in mine.
Good old boys protect their women from viewing vulgar displays as "the finger." He spent his time in jail but can be viewed as a hero for protecting the ladies in the audience from trash. If you cannot behave in a decent manner, stay home! I think Trump is also learning that you don't win any votes in the South by using four letter words.
