No, we actually know Trump is the only one who can beat Clinton in the general. He's accomplished what Hillary never has. He's taken on the "vast Right-wing conspiracy" and won. He calls it the establishment, but it's the same group. This summer the pundits all but anointed Jeb Bush. Go back and read the threads, look at the old polls. Trump destroyed them, and they are furious. Everyone said it couldn't be done, and he did it. Now the same idiots are saying he can't beat Clinton. They gon' learn soon

Did you not watch his announcement speech?!

Probably one of the most important moments in history. All the networks filmed him going down the escalator in Trump Tower, with Melania right behind him, and then he went on to deliver one the most important speeches in American History. It was truly amazing.

We all love this country but some of you are just nut jobs.....sorry. And the tea party will mostly go away for each generation. And honestly, trump is not your savior. He tells you what you want to hear and gets more outlandish each time

Nat - there are extremists in both parties - and as far as the label Teapartyists - there are millions of average American joe blows who are backing both Trump and Sanders - they are sick of being told who is the best candidate for them and then receiving nothing that was promised. You can not label every Trump supporter a Teapartier or every Bernie supporter a Socialist - they are Americans that are just sick and tired of how the gov't is run.

I know many Republicans that will vote for Bernie in the general election if he's the nominee. I also know many democrats and independents who plan to vote for Trump. The average American - who wants change will not go away and that group has continued to grow. You think the Teaparty will go away - fat chance - the name might change - the beliefs might soften - but you will see more and more people supporting groups like this to attain a gov't that actually works FOR THE PEOPLE again.

I sit across the table from "the guy" and we're talking about what happened yesterday, which was that a major political lobby just dumped their endorsement, and a whole bunch of money, on the other guy, our opposition. Now, I'd been around the block a few times, and this kid hadn't, but this kid had been dipped in the holy water of St. Henry Cisneros, and had that beatific glow that you see on byzantine mosaic art. You know, those floating halos and glowing skin. And he smiles his make-a-menopausal-woman-melt smile and says, "It's okay. They can donate to my campaign after I win."

He won.

He won, and all those political groups that paid big money to the opposition paid yet still even MORE money to my guy, after he won. There's a difference between learning politics at the grassroots and learning politics at Harvard. At my level, we scrounged for every nickel we could find. We beat up elementary school children walking to the bus stop and stole their lunch money and used it to buy printer ink and lawn signs. They don't teach you that at Harvard. At Harvard, they teach you that when a political lobby guesses wrong and backs the loser, they have to pay even MORE after the election, to the winner. First, to pay them what should have been their's in the 1st place (because lobbyists back winners, ALWAYS. They're not interested in ideals, morality, friendship, history or loyalty. They want their money to go to the guy in office.) And also, they pay EXTRA, as punishment. It's the "We're sorry we screwed up Sir and didn't think you could beat that guy, so here's an extra 25% to 50% to make it up to you."

The alternative to paying the winner AFTER the election is to have no access to the politician and lobbyists are paid REALLY good money for access. The ability to make a phone call and have the Senator, or the Representative, or the Mayor take the call. Or return the call. Or have his Chief of Staff return the call. But never NOT return the call. The only people who don't get their phone calls returned, are the people that didn't pay.

So, the point is, don't fret. Those "terrified" donors are going to pay. And pay. And pay. And they are going to do and be whatever it is that the person with the power wants them to do and be, because if they don't, and they aren't, the person with the power can, with the stroke of a pen, give all those government goodies to any one of thousands of other potential contributors, someone he can work with, and get along with. That's the thing about power. Once you have it, they come to you. You don't come to them. They do YOU favors, you don't do them favors. In short, President Trump will have no trouble making friends, either out of old enemies or new friends that never had an opportunity to know and do things for the President of the United States. There's never a shortage of people that are willing to take free government money.

Excellent post! I just read an article the Big Business spends more on their Lobbyists than they pay in taxes. Trump is right - you grease their palm with enough - they do your bidding - but boy will it cost them if Trump is in office!

Would not be much difference since the establishment likes illegals immigration ,Syrian Muslims coming here ,hundreds of thousands I might add. Importing ISIS into our country is supported by both parties. Why do you think Trump is so popular.? He gets it.

We will have terrorist incidents every day and live in fear that our families will be blown up..It will be the new normal that terrorists are here in great numbers.

The GOP sounds just like Hillary on there talking points against Donald Trump.

At that point it's too late.
Every elected GOP governor, senator and congressman up for election has influence on what happens. If this comes to pass, they will lose my vote anyway.

trump is more conservative than romney, that's why romney hates him and spent a whole hour bitching about him with the media's blessing.

ROMNEY WAS A BIG GOVERNMENT GLOBALIST.

don't use those 2 names in the same sentence.

Here's what no one talks about, because they are so terrified of offending "latinos" or "hispanics" or "chicanos" or "meztisos" or "mexican-americans".

They aren't "undocumented workers" or "undocumented immigrants", they are Illegal Aliens, which is a legal term of art that has been around since English Common Law. In 1450, when a person from one country was in someone else's country illegally, they were called "Illegal Aliens" and no Socialist Orwellian Newspeak can erase the legal tradition that makes "Illegal Aliens" the ONLY correct word-choice. When I heard Megan Kelly calling them "Undocumented Immigrants" on Fox News (the supposedly "conservative" news channel), I knew the corruption was complete, and that revolution was the only solution.

But that's not all. The OTHER thing people are afraid to talk about is the reason WHY these Illegal Aliens abandon the country of their birth to come to the United States. Sure everyone wants the gratifying "feel good" sensation when they say that those hoards of hard-working mexicans are coming here for "opportunity", etc... but the REAL TRUTH is that they are FLEEING the economic disaster the Mexican Government perpetuates. The first responsibility of any government is to provide for the general welfare of it's people, and every single Illegal Alien in this country is a living testamonial to the failure of the Mexican Government.

Not only should the Mexican Government pay for the wall, they should also pay for all of the expenses of having their economic refugees in our country, to include Education, Health Care, Law Enforcement, burden on the Courts, cost of Incarceration, Deportation, victim Compensation, etc...

Every time an illegal alien is involved in an accident in the United States, and does not have insurance, the Mexican Government should pay a $100,000 fine. And if they don't like it, we should shut-down the border until they do. And if they REALLY don't like it, we should simply invade Mexico and govern their people for them, since they've failed to do the job for over 40 years. Invade Mexico. VIVA USA!!! They want to be Americans so badly, let's turn Mexico into several new states and make them ALL Americans.
The government thinks they cleaned it up by calling it lobbying, but in actuality it is bribery and corrupt as Hades.

Actually after the Mexican-American War, we gave back the land that is Mexico.. we should have kept all of what is today Mexico and the country under America would be thriving as is California and Texas.

Thump would like us to think he is conservative but I don't think he even understands the word. No, he really isn't a true conservative. He is an opportunist, that is all!!!

You realize, if they do this, it will be an easy in for Hillary, which is probably why they may do so.
