Cruz is just as much an American citizen as I am, and two courts have affirmed that fact (PA, NJ) He is a "natural born citizen" from birth. Are you too lazy to look up the law?
"Natural born citizen" was not defined in the Constitution. The origin of the term is from a letter written to George Washington from John Jay. In using the term, Jay would have assumed Washington knew what it meant, so no definition was needed. It comes from the British Common Law, which the Founders and Framers understood very well. One was "natural born" if born "of the soil" or "by blood." Cruz wasn't born "of the soil" (within the borders of the country, if you will), but "by blood", because he was the child of one who was born "of the soil" (his mother). Thus he was declared a "natural born citizen" in both the NJ court and the PA court. An appeal was filed in PA to the Supreme Court, but it was rejected. Thus, the ruling stands.
As for Cuz "crumbling," that's just plain laughable.
