OP, I think that's an excellent list and you've thoroughly covered the short list (except you left out Gov. Hickenlooper) on the Dem side.
In the end, I think personal chemistry and mutual respect will be big factors in Hillary's pick - even more so than demographics. For that reason alone, Kaine has a strong lead with Castro as runner-up; both have a long strong connection and rapport with the Clintons, no one else on the list comes close in that regard far as I know. Not sure about Perez?
I'd be happy with either Kaine or Castro or just about anyone on the list. IMO, Clinton's extensive foreign policy experience outweighs Castro's deficiency in that arena. She'd mentor him.
That said, my personal favorite is Sherrod B but I understand the need to keep his Senate seat.
Yeah, I remember hearing Hickenlooper's name being thrown around about a year ago, but I left him out because I have not heard his name come up recently. As a Coloradan, it would be interesting having him on the ticket, though.
Also, I could add Xavier Becerra, but as a dark-horse/long-shot list. I remember thinking he could be a solid choice, and I just saw an article today about his long-shot VP possibility. He is experienced, loyal to Clinton, Hispanic, bilingual, telegenic, well-spoken. The only negatives would be that California is a solid blue state, and Becerra would not sway over any angry progressive Bernie supporters. Anyway, it will not happen, but I think he could be a fine choice.
Bob Corker, senator from Tennessee, could be a good shout. He hasn't ruled out being Trumps VP either. He has good knowledge of foreign affairs and offered to help Trump on such matters. He also praised Trumps foreign policy speech a few weeks ago.
If Trump is looking for experience and isn't bothered about having an old white guy on the ticket, Corker would be better than Gingrich since Corker doesn't have all the baggage Gingrich carries, or hasn't been married 3 times etc.

Lots of skeletons in Corker's closet. Just saying.
What about some of the Republicans who have been released from prison like Tom DeLay? Has Trump considered any of those?
