Ah, but what if I told you he was transgender and gay? Or that he forced 4 of his "girlfriends" to have an abortion? Or that he really wants to impose gun control (remember, he tweeted that he agreed with Obama's sentiments after Newtown in 2012)? Or that he actually LOVES brown skinned people, especially the Mexicans and Muslims? Or that he told someone during a taped off-the-record conversation that the wall and the deportation roundups are total BS?
Still no, eh? That's what I thought.
Act 1, Scene 2, Page 11, Shakespeare's Julius Caesar:
Quote:
When [Caesar] came to himself again, he said if he had done or said anything amiss, he desired their worships to think it was his infirmity. Three or four wenches where I stood cried, “Alas, good soul!” and forgave him with all their hearts. But there’s no heed to be taken of them. If Caesar had stabbed their mothers they would have done no less.
Where he says “From a moral standpoint, I believe in it,”
Yes, it says that, but it is 'according to a source in the room' which I would take with a grain of salt. The media likes to bend and twist what he says.
Trump himself is quoted in the same article saying it wouldn't be a good idea to cut social security at all and I have heard those words come out of his mouth in interviews. He doesn't want to cut it.
Trump said he doesn't agree with Ryan's agenda, and this is why he hasn't gotten an endorsement from Ryan to date.
plenty of things to cut besides a senior's social security, money that was taken out of our paycheck for decades.
This is one of the fundamental issues with these government programs, people have made long term plans and if you start changing the rules on them now they are going to be screwed.
That said something needs to be done. SS has about a 3 trillion dollar surplus however this is IOU's written by the government that has been used to hide deficits over the last 25+ years. That money is spent, it's gone. This is intragovernmental debt.
That surplus may be gone by about 2034. Not only will they no longer be able to hide the deficit with the surplus but they are going to have to come up with 160 billion each year to pay back SS. Once 2034 hits it's going to start adding to the public debt.
Social Security needs to be cut for all the youngsters that ***** and moan about it.
There should definitely be a scenario where you can opt out of the program. I'd much rather have the money to invest myself. If they allowed you to opt out though they would also need to raise the maximum IRA contribution limits, or better yet the ROTH limits.
It will all come down to what his veep wants, Mick. Everything is on the table because Lazy Donald has no idea what his veep is going to do while he plays chairman president on tv and Twitter.

If his VP is clever (like Newt), he'd get Trump impeached so he could take over the title of President. Why do the work without the title and praise?

The problem with this is if you were to eliminate it tomorrow and just pay the obligations for SS/medicare it's an estimated 44 trillion dollars over the next 40 years or whatever. It's the money coming in that will pay those obligations, it's the world's biggest ponzi scheme.
