I'd like to see a historical breakdown based on "the boring factor." It seems that the boring candidate hasn't won since before Reagan, at least.

Yes they were elected to a follow up term... but they weren't elected by the people to follow an incumbent Democrat... which is what this thread is about.
All you said was "Yep... LBJ and Truman weren't elected...they followed a president who died in office." You inaccurately said they were never elected and I corrected you. I'm glad my words inspired you to check so now you know the correct answer instead of the previous misinformation you had

To be fair Old Gringo did come back, unlike many others, and face up to being wrong about the election. He has my respect for that as well a a virtual pizza and beer on me.
