A democrat deciding to work with his party to get their candidates elected when he decides to give up his run is a sellout? Versus the presumptive nominee who goes on a bigoted rant about his personal affairs, says those who are embarrassed and dismayed to just get over it. In the class wars - Bernie for the win.
Why, do you think Obama woke up just this morning and decided to endorse Hillary? He has had plenty of time since the middle of last year to figure out who to endorse (I am sure he would have loved to endorse Joe Biden).
How's this for trivia?
We know Obama filmed the endorsement video sometime Tuesday because the striped tie he was wearing was identical, down to the slanted stripe on the knot, to other footage known shot that day.

Well of course the meeting was pre-arranged, how or why would it not be? It was well-publicized that Obama called Sanders this past week-end and they had a 45-minute private conversation. During the conversation, Sanders requested this in-person meeting and Obama agreed. Sanders voters who pay the slightest attention to the news in any form knew that.

Yes, informed voters knew Obama was referring to the earlier phone call. That's when he informed Sanders he would endorse Clinton quickly after the primary results. From Obama's POV, it was done and dusted but he agreed to the Sanders WH visit as a courtesy.

You've misunderstood Sanders if you think that he fundamentally opposes Clinton. He has said in the past that he likes and respects her. And he also been saying, quite clearly, that any republican, but especially Trump, is a disaster as a candidate and would be a disaster as president.
And yet he's doing everything he can to ensure a Trump presidency by becoming another Ralph Nader.
At this point, Sanders is just an ass. If he can't have the white house, then no other democrat can. What an ass...

So the party that bernie says has a corrupt nomination process, its politicians like clinton sell out to wall street donors, politicians serve money interest before the people, etc. it's all now magically just considered "working" with the party now by bernie and he should just back it as such now/it's all cool?
Wow.
And let's be realistic.....nothing/very little is going to change in that party. It's not different this time. Sounds to me like this is just another "rebel" throwing in the towel and playing ball with the "enemy" that magically somehow turns into a long lost friend. So touching. Yet sadly, so predictable.

Nope, nope. The video was released today after the meeting, he said "this week" when the meeting and endorsement was supposedly today. Sloppy stuff.
Obama was ALWAYS going to endorse the Democratic party nominee, whoever that turned out to be. And he was ALWAYS going to help that nominee in any way possible.
What, you really think he spent any time at all agonizing over whether, if Sanders didn't win, he should endorse Clinton or Trump?????!!!!!!
That's funny! Especially since a number of republicans have been saying they will cross over to hillary because trump is so unpalatable. I'd be willing to bet that very few of Sanders' supporters would cross over to the person who is the antithesis of what bernie stands for, especially since bernie will be working to see that doesn't happen. Sorry, trumpster, you won't be collecting a lot of votes from that group.

I swear, this presidential campaign process seems like a brand-new thing to a lot of posters here.
What???? You mean after a campaign is over, the opponents DON'T splinter off to each form a new party? They shake hands and find ways to help each other, because they share a common agenda???? Their supporters pull together? Who'da THUNK?????

Well, y'know, there have been posts implying that sanders would run with the green party if he didn't get the nom. That was just wishful thinking by trump followers. I think he is a realist, he knows that the democratic party holds many of the same values he does and he wants his agenda pursued. He certainly wouldn't be telling his supporters to vote for trump instead of hillary.
And so perhaps it begins. Isn't it interesting this coincidentally happened after meeting with obama.
Sure sounds like he's changing his song. So if he doesn't run independent, green party, etc., and supports clinton, I have a feeling most sander's supporters will think he's a sellout and certainly won't support clinton.
A piece on why bernie shouldn't cross over/support this lady:
Hillary and the Dems are incorporating Bernie's issues and policies into the platform and compromising (not an ugly word in the Dem world) and they will be supporting each other. You know "United we Stand"?
The only people who will have a difficult time grasping this concept is the base of the GOP who are Trump supporters. They are used to divisiveness and fighting, because they are the angry voters. All action stems from their anger. The Dems are way more united.
Meanwhile, the GOP has a faction still trying to dump Trump and apparently being led by Hugh Hewitt--"the plane is heading for the mountain."
