Probably a good pick for him in that he has experience in Congress and has a different temperment.

It can't be total amateur hour on the campaign trail.

Bush is of the left.

The "Read my lips, no new taxes," "voodoo economics"-deriding (and if you concur you only prove this point), population-reduction promoting Bushes are a neocon family.

The "neo-" in neocon means "new-," "improved-," "with it-," "groovy-," "lefty anodyne-." Aka, leftist Republicans, Rockefeller Republicans. The neocon movement's founder, Bill Kristol's dad, was a self-described "Trotskyist" (http://www.pbs.org/arguing/nyintelle...krystol_2.html).

It's a leftist infection of the GOP, designed to co-opt both parties by infusing them with identical values, including warmongering.

And as you've seen in the last few months, neocons don't leave the GOP quietly. But they're promising they don't want to be at Trump's and Pence's convention for real conservatives.

One can go back in time and look at those who advocated for repealing a portion of Glass Stegall, making China's trade relationship permanent and NAFTA.

Many blame Clinton and overlook Congress.

Now here we are ignoring Bush and blaming Congress.

Can't have it both ways.

As for the bank bailout portion of TARP, anyway you look at it, FDIC was on the hook and its resources would have quickly been exhausted.
Trump is considering picking Bush? If not your rant is totally irrelevant. No one was blaming anyone for anything. They are noting how a possible VP candidate voted on a controversial subject.

That's racist. Would you use that term to describe the current president. Is Obama the left's boy?

Trump supported TARP...him and Pence don't seem to agree on anything

Then there's Newt who was a strong advocate for NAFTA, back when.

Then again, between them, they have had 6 wives so they have some common ground.

I don't see any up side to Newt.

Christie is probably a better pick for AG, unless Trump wants a good/ bad cop thing.

Trump is anti-war too:

"There's so much oil, people don't know what to do with it. And, yet, because of OPEC, that is the story. It is very sad. But, if we got rid of this war, and if we got oil down, this country would be unbelievable. You wouldn't even need this." -Trump to Neil Cavuto, Fox News, 2008

Newt is smart. He would totally wipe up the floor with the press and their often stupid questions. He would be better performing a more active position than VP.

Agreed and ignored Bush's role.

I am partisan agnostic.

Better Pense than the Newt.

The Democrats meanwhile were as usual almost all in.
Ah, the TARP, George Bush's 'gift' to America which had to be passed or there would be riots on the streets. So they said, and the day after they fooled the Congress to pass it, they changed the story.

Pence who?

Newt probably would have been better, since he knows how the political game is played, while Trump knows nothing about it.
