I didn't realize so many people on here were typing Democratic Party rather than Democrat Party. Though it is like all those on here that type loose when they really mean is lose.

Says who? "Democratic" is an adjective, and in that form the word is capitalized or not depending on one's meaning. "Republican" is similarly an adjective, but unlike "democratic," it can also grammatically function as a noun. Perhaps this usage began with the Jefferson-led Democratic-Republican Party of the late 18th century. But in any case, by the mid-19 century after Jackson's ascendancy, The Democratic Party it became and remains, in spite of major ideological shifts over that 170 years or so.
I remember some of you going bat **** crazy when a former President used Democrat Party. What's changed?
