If you assume that the NY Times story about Trump's tax situation is true, would it affect your decision whether or not to vote for him?

Specifically, they're alleging that he took a huge tax loss back in the '90's which allowed him to counterbalance huge amounts of future income. Everyone is acknowledging that this appears to be completely legal

only liberals who want to bash Trump care. If its a problem, change the tax code....its too complicated with loopholes. Hillary herself minimizes taxes too. Her estate and a chunk of her wealth is in a trust.

Lets be serious, anyone here would pay as little tax as possible if they legally could. NYT doesn't even pay any taxes

I think the story is true because Trump and his campaign have acknowledged it is true. The end. I think it shows Trump is not a good businessman. I think it shows that Trump found a way to make everyone else pay for his poor business skills.

"Over the next several years the businesses swirled down the drain and Trump was able to sell his other distressed casinos to the public company. In other words, he was both the buyer and the seller. So he sold the deeply indebted and already failing Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Castle to the company at a price of his choosing. While he was doing this he continued to pay himself tens of millions of dollars a year as the company's CEO"

Not only did he lose almost a billion dollars, he made others pay for his mess while he further turned it into a tax deduction which saved him from paying taxes for as long as 18 years. There is likely more to the story and that's why he refuses to release his tax returns.

If you want to end national defense, military, Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, etc. so that no one pays taxes, that's fine. Seniors better buckle up because they will be feeling it first and trust me, Trump does not care about you.

My opposition to the orange maniac would stand even if he gave me a bigger tax cut.

Trump isn't a good businessman? He can legally not pay taxes & shove debt to others...but still have conservatively over a billion net worth today? He must have something right to be in his current position

Yes, like not paying his contractors and suing them if they complain. Hey, let's all not pay taxes, sound good?

I'll admit that is a bit unreasonably aggressive. Change the system if its that bad. People are lawsuit trigger itchy in this country.

Sure, don't pay your taxes legally. The tax code is a complicated loophole of a mess. Hillary hides her vast wealth in trusts. Donald doesn't pay taxes. Romney pays 14% effective rate of taxes. Buffet pays less taxes than his secretary. Buffet & Gates will donate their wealth to avoid taxes.

I voted no, Trump didn't do anything wrong and Hillary and the left are misleading people who don't know anything about taxes.
