I read that the leadership of the Democratic party will see that their nominee will be a woman and or minority. They don't want any old white man as their standard bearer

If you are a Democrat, would you support an old white man as a candidate for President?

The only thing I care about is that they're younger than about 70.

Have I mentioned I would vote for basic roadkill over Donald Trump?

So yeah; whoever the nominee is would have to be better than the current squatter in the WH.

Basic roadkill? Does than mean that Hillary is running again?

This D would strongly prefer someone younger than 70. Extra points for a woman or a minority, but what I really want is a strong and wily leader who will lead the charge for universal health care.

But I will vote for the D nominee, no matter if s/he is over 80, and I suspect I am not alone. (Heck, you could probably convince me to vote for someone over 90.)

Depends on the individual and their platform.

Not a candidate so my vote doesn't count but I do believe the Dems are looking for a young, minority and hopefully a woman. To me, this is defeat ready to happen. We all need to concentrate on who would be best for our country and not choose based on race, sexual orientation or gender. We saw in 2008 our country was ready for a minority president: I think we are ready for a female as well, but a combination of female and minority, I am not sure about that. The candidate would need to be very special. I do think age may play a part this election.

I suspect a lot of folks would vote for a Biden/Feinstein/Sanders combo if one were on life support and the other battling disease- I strongly suspect 'not Trump' will be the most popular candidate of 2020. But hey- it worked for Rs in 2016...
