Ninety percent of Hispanics who primarily speak Spanish identify as Democrats, but of those who mostly use English that number drops to 59 percent, according to a Pew Hispanic Center survey released earlier this month. Those English-dominant voters are by no means leaving the Democratic Party in droves, however. Overall, Clinton leads among Latino voters by nearly 3-1.
But of Latino Trump supporters, 83 percent are U.S.-born. A similar pattern was seen in 2012, when Hispanics who mainly speak Spanish supported Barack Obama over Mitt Romney by a whopping margin of 59 percentage points. English-speaking Latinos still overwhelmingly supported the president, but the margin dropped to 40 points
Here's an interesting quote from the same article. Seems Trump's rhetoric is impacting Latinos to vote anti-Trump even if they previously voted for Republicans.
"If you're going to force someone to vote on their ethnicity, they will," said Sylvia Manzano of the polling group Latino Decisions. "Latino voters who voted against Mitt Romney did so on health care and the economy but didn't think, "This guy hates people like me.' This thing with Trump is a qualitatively different animal."

The real truth is Latinos have been voting Democrat for the last few elections because they are promising amnesty to their illegal amigos. It may be true more so of those not born here or who use Spanish as their primary language but regardless most Latinos vote Democrat because of the above issue. It is self-serving and not in the best interests of this country. Wanting our immigration laws enforced is not "rhetoric" it's the law. Not our fault that most illegals are Latinos so they shouldn't take it personally.

Wrong, most Hispanics legal or illegal want a secure border. The main issue among 2nd generation and on is precisely the fact that Latinos, no matter what generation, will never be considered American in Trumps eyes (see Judge Curiel).

Illegals want a secure border? What are they doing here if that's what they want? The polls prove you wrong. Most Hispanics want amnesty for illegal aliens how does that translate to wanting a secure border?
Utter nonsense about Trump. He only has a problem with those here illegally and their ethnocentric supporters. As for Judge Curiel, Trump thought he could be biased since his lawyer's association was an affiliate of the NCLR and his association also granted scholarships to illegal aliens. That does not equate to Trump considering all Latinos as non-Americans. The judge's ethnicity had nothing to do with it. It was about the above.
