Interesting dynamic thought a hair thin margin. If McCrory had not pushed so hard for HB2, IMO, he would have been re-elected.
I didn't vote for McCrory or Cooper. Don't like what McCrory did with HB2, and I consider Cooper to be cut from the same corrupt NC DEM establishment of Hunt/Easley/Perdue.
McCrory also lost a lot of votes due to the Water quality issue around Duke power plants. He looked like a Duke lobbyist more then a Governor. When he forced the NCDER to change water standards to fit the issues for people around Duke plants, he lost a lot of votes. Because of this issue the people in each entire county will be paying to fix water systems (create some new ones).

Its actually its not uncommon for North Carolinians to split the ticket between governor and president. Before Pat Mcrory took office several years ago, the governor's mansion was controlled by Democrats for years even though NC traditionally votes Republican for the president. McCrory only got into office because of the Tea Party movement when Republicans took over the state general assembly for the first time in over a century.

Nope.
McCrory was elected because Perdue did such a horrendous job while she ran the state. She raised sales taxes to historic highs, ran up huge debt, and her administration was involved in numerous scandals. All in all she was a poor career establishment politician who deserved to go.

McCrory has done much worse which explains the election outcome and it's not just about HB2
If a recount is allowed under state law, I say let's do the recount.
Then if the results are in favor for Trump will he try to debunk those results too? The DNC and the left knows once Trump is sworn in game over and there is not even chance of this ideal that HRC could be President!
HRC is the picture of corruption and back room deals. When GW was President the Dems were always ready to label anything as "Crony Capitalism" (Nance Polse and Reid)

It's about HB2. McCrory lost key supporter from those who were interested in what it cost the state in terms of lost jobs. This includes his home county of Mecklenburg which was hardest hit with repercussions from HB2. The other issue that probably hurt him was the I-77 toll project. It cost him votes in the GOP friendly Lake Norman (Northern Meck, Southern Iredell) area.
Over a million people live in Meck alone, and we are only talking about a few 1000 votes.
