Whatever gains he's making among men and non-college voters, he losing more among college voters and women.

Quote:
Four years ago, Romney beat President Obama among white voters by 17 percentage points, according to pre-election polls. That was the largest winning margin among white voters for any losing presidential candidate since at least 1948. Of course, even if Trump did just as well as Romney did, it would help him less, given that the 2016 electorate will probably be more diverse that 2012’s. And to win — even if the electorate remained as white as it was four years ago — Trump would need a margin of 22 percentage points or more among white voters.

But Trump isn’t even doing as well as Romney. Trump is winning white voters by just 13 percentage points, according to an average of the last five live-interviewer national surveys.1 He doesn’t reach the magic 22 percentage point margin in a single one of these polls.

Default Trump doing worse than Romney among White voters

Trump
Quote:
Donald Trump’s strategy in this campaign has been fairly clear from the beginning: Drive up Republican support among white voters in order to compensate for the GOP’s shrinking share among the growing nonwhite portion of the electorate. And Trump has succeeded in overperforming among a certain slice of white voters, those without a college degree. But overall, the strategy isn’t working. Trump has a smaller lead among white voters than Mitt Romney did in 2012, and Trump’s margin seems to be falling from where it was when the general election began.
Donald Trump can't even manage to resurrect Mitt Romney's losing coalition. Whatever support he gains from non-college educated Whites is offset by losing support among college educated Whites.

Folks, it's clear as day: White voters alone are not enough to win presidential elections anymore. If the GOP ever wants to see the inside of the White House outside of a guided tour they better stop antagonizing and degrading Blacks and Hispanics. Also, they are going to have to remove the social issues albatross in order to appeal to Millenials. Gay marriage and abortion are here to stay, get over it. Look, I personally find abortions to be abhorrent but our nation's highest court has issued it's ruling and that's that.

The media has said Trump will never get x percentage of support, and every single time they were wrong.

The msm was been working to undermine Trump from day one, and everything they say ends up being wrong.

The primary is over. It's the "big league" now.

Ignore the media and look at the polls. With the election so close there are lots of new polls released daily. You can even look at pollster ratings if you aren't sure about a pollster.

Here's a link the latest poll updates:

Exactly. They will have lost the small amount of credibility that they used to have by the time this election is over.

In order to win, Donald Trump has to radically improve his support among white college graduates, particularly college women. His gains among non-college whites are being more than erased by his losses among college grads.

Attached is an interesting measure that is updated daily from Bloomberg News that mines various polls to break down the support for both candidates by demographic groups.

Better stop antagonizing and degrading blacks and Hispanics = give them free stuff.

No one is talking about social issues in this election. Trump doesn't give a crap about abortion or gay marriage.

one time the Supreme Court held slavery and jim crow constitutional backed by the Democrat Party.......so the country should have left it alone?

if you think abortions on demand at any time for any reason using tax payers money is acceptable because 5 liberal lawyers in the S.C. say so when you feel to be abhorrent then you have no principles to fight for what you believe then what are you willing to fight for.

you have 1 party that is PRO DEATH and another party that sides with LIFE for the unprotected....which side are you on and are you willing to give up because of 5 lawyers.

When we eliminate the hyperbolic BS what we really have is one party that believes an individual's medical/personal decisions should be left to that individual as well as their own trusted advisors/medical professionals and NOT a group of (for the most part) gray haired old men in Washington and another party that despite claims of believing in less government interference in our lives just can't seem to keep its collective nose out of what should be peoples' private lives.

Trump doesn't give a crap about a lot of things, but you better believe that the folks who support Pence do. They've been his signature issues.

There are a lot of voters who are holding their nose and voting for Trump because they believe that the Republican party will appoint Justices to the Supreme Court who will strike down Rowe v. Wade.
