Obamacare and Medicaid will stay just as they are, intact, through 2018. That should be enough time for the GOP to either come up with fixes/alternatives or not.

If the first is accomplished, it will be either single payer or something close to it, and if the second, which is doing nothing at all, happens, then the issue will be kicked down the road to 2020, with everything still intact as it is now and still functioning the same.

The new reality the GOP is still struggling to face is that socialized medicine is here to stay. Too many people of all ages, economic status, and locations all depend on it now, and it is seen as a common right for all.
