The black vote is paid for as they have invested nothing anywhere else. They are as always a block vote and really already committed. Hispanic are the vote candidates are going after in the general election.

Even then, it was Blacks who had fled to the Northern cities who started to vote Democrat and Blacks who still lived in the South under Democrat persecution couldn't believe their Northern brethren could have such short memories as to vote for the "enemy"- the Democrats. Why do you think the Ole south tried to keep black people from voting? Because they were voting Republican in the Democrat South, that's why.
All that's true until about about 1968 when Richard Nixon began using what came to be known as the "southern strategy. Check out the quote from Nixon strategist Kevin Phillips:

"From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don't need any more than that... but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That's where the votes are."

People are sick of collectivist and are looking for true leaders that respect people as individuals such as Ron Paul. The true colors of the Democratic Party are all coming out. It is funny watching life long democratic blacks fighting to defend the racist within their party. This is the same Democratic Party that allowed whites and blacks to refer to Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell as a “coons” and all sorts of other racial epithets like “Uncle Tom” etc. You people should have seen this coming. The Dems have been the same groups calling every black elected by a Republican Administration “unqualified affirmative action hires.” In 8 years Bill Clinton couldn’t find a black to represent the US in a Top Cabinet office. The signs have always been there and it is clear who the real racist party is, and finally blacks are waking up and seeing the writing on the wall.

The dems have been exposed for the racist in sheep’s clothing; they've always been from day one. Seriously, I have a lot of conservative, libertarian, and liberal friends. However, I’ve heard some of the most insulting statements come out of the mouths of people that consider themselves liberal progressives. It is great they are all being exposed for the bigots they are! I'm sure some older blacks will remain loyal to a party, that has slapped them in the face for more than 30 years, but I highly doubt younger blacks will continue to support this party in the coming years.

I think if Obama looses this time out and runs again in 2012, they'll vote for him, but I highly doubt, the dems will remain a viable party for strong black support in the next 10-20 years

My thoughts on the Democrat party and their real racist beliefs are as follows;

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist"

No, i'm calling whites devils, but using it as a euphemism for the democrats racism. They attempted to convince blacks and other minority groups, they were not racist, but oh what a lie that was! 40 Years Later they're finally being exposed!!! THANKS BARRACK, for exposing them!!

-seems they believe blacks are only good enough to vote for them, but not run against them!

The Republicans-Conservatives-Neoconservatives have become synonymous with racial bigotry, racial intolerance, and racial insensitivity. Ron Paul is a Republican and has in the past been identified with such views. The klan and the most severe racist organizations in this country support the Republican platform for this reason.

What in God's name are you talking about?

The Klan was big in the south when the south was all most exclusively democratic. The blacks have voted democratic since the times of FDR as have the unions.George wallace was a democrat. Blacks vote democratic becasue just like the unions they have vested all thier block vote there. Hispanic certainly sre discriminated against and they don't.So what are you talking about. Certauinly this race shows that there is racsim in many ethic groups that was always there but hiddenfrom public discussion.

Blacks will be Democrats unless Obama wins the primary vote and they pick Hillary anyway.

TruthHurts, I wish you ran for pres.

Anyway, I hate to say it, but the truth is that Blacks in the cities will never vote Republican. That's becuase socialism has too much a stranglehold on the situation. Black people in the suburbs however may be winnable.

I agree blcks in the cities will always be democrats. But there are very upward mobile dblacks that are republicans now days. When you are the party of income redistribution that speaks to those that don't so well in a competitive society IMO.

The black voter should start at least wavering to make their vote more important and to keep the parties tap dancing. What happened to the times when loyalty was everything? No more, that's over!

Oh, don't worry. The party turned its back on Hillary long ago and, barring some truly stunning Obama revelation, he will be the nominee. Doesn't mean he'll get the "typical white votes," though, and he can't win the presidency with just the black vote, the white guilt votes, and a sliver of the Hispanic vote.
