I just wish the elections were held after tax season begins and millions of people get their bills. Millions of Americans are underpaying in a big way. Sure they could have used the tax calculators and adjusted their fed tax withholding. Yet, I heard a feature on the local news speculating few people have thinking the reductions are more favorable then they are actually. Oh so many conservatives are going to be baffled and broke come 4/19.

I used the IRS tax estimator to see if I was underpaying. Seems like I aim, in a big way too. I think I'm getting an extra $100 or so in my paychecks, so let's say that's about 2400/yr. But my tax refund (from the estimator) is scheduled to drop by 2100.

So, $300 tax relief for me.
Millions for businesses that were booming just fine before these went into effect.

Yay for the middle class.

The littlebrains among us speak of withholding the wrong amount and then having to pay.
Dumb.
Either your taxes went up or they went down. For most people they went down.

But littlebrain people have no savings. They live from one paycheck until the day before the next paycheck.
Dumb.

Some other "littlebrains" think a $300 tax cut is good. You do realize that our Adjusted Gross Income has gone up because we've lost some of our deductions. Now, when these tax cuts are phased out (but the business tax rate will stay!), we'll all be paying HIGHER taxes due to it. When the rates creep up, as per the tax cut law, and our AGI stays higher, we'll just pay more in taxes.

Yay, such a win. I'm glad I could apply my "littlebrain" to this concept.

I`m a retiree on a fixed income but I`m against looting the Treasury for tax cuts when we`re deeply in debt. Do these people who want tax cuts pay their bills at home? I thought it was Democrats who want free stuff.
