I'll believe it when I see it. Beginning to conclude after seeing Trump get elected and after observing 40% of the public celebrating his destruction of America as we knew it - that we are too stupid to govern ourselves. People have short memories, have no interest in history and would rather spend their days playing with electronic toys and eating themselves into a semi-catatonic daze.

Not a Chance

Quite a few Americans have the common sense that the " New Democratic " party lacks
their actions of late are a great indicator and there is no direction listed in the liberal
handbook to help the misguided.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,'
they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

- Norman Thomas, former U.S. Socialist Presidential Candidate

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

dunno. It was looking good for them but many of the Senate and Governor races are turning in Republicans favor, the House can easily be the same as well.

With the markets dropping like a rock as the results of Trump's stupid trade war start to be felt, I think the Democrats are in a good position to take the House.

People vote with their wallets. Remember, it's the economy, stupid.

Since our economy is the best it's been in decades, you confirm the dems will lose. Thank you.
(Naturally all who detest President Trump will deny this fact)

They did, but not many understand it. The forecast odds the night before were 71% Clinton and 29% Trump. Odds are not a prediction -- only a statistical assessment of the window of where the expected results will fall. Trump managed to squeak out a very narrow victory by pulling a hat trick of winning three states by razor thin margins. That's hard to do so yes, 538's odds were right.

It's like an underdog football team where the favorite has 3-to-1 odds of winning. That's not a prediction the favorite will win, only that they are expected to win. Upsets can and do happen.

Eighty-four percent (84%) of Republicans prefer the candidate from their party, while 83% of Democrats opt for their party's candidate. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, Republicans post a narrow 39% to 38% lead.

Maybe the Republicans will be OK.

Polling independents is not the same as polling pursadable voters .

That's why polling data matters far more than the end results .

If you simply ask some one " are you a member of a party" , all you are doing is asking affiliation, not ideology.

Looks likely. But the real suspense is whether they might tip the Senate.
