This thread is to discuss the results of the midterm elections for 2018. This opens the thread up to several topics and yet those topics fall under the same umbrella.

This means that the results of ALL states will be included in that sticky. If someone wants to talk about the winner and how it affects the state in question, that should go in the state forums. If you want to discuss how the recently elected senator will impact the nation that will stay.

*NOTE this is for Senate and House ONLY. All Governor races should be in their respective forums.

Thread will be strictly moderated for TOS violations.

This thread will open election evening around 7 PM EST.

All other threads about the results will be deleted or merged from this forum and the main forum.

NYT is reporting the D leads in Kentucky 6th with 6% reporting. If Rs lose that seat, the House is gone.

Looks like Andy Barr is pulling away from McGrath so far. Will be an interesting night.
Edit: The race seems to be flip-flopping

Personally, I don't take any results seriously until at least about 80% of the vote is in. In fact, I'm probably not going to watch any election returns until about 9pm Central time. Not worth it before then.

If it were up to exit polls, the Dems would win. But results coming in tell a different story. Big red wave underway.

Barr is currently ahead by 2%. If Rs only win that seat by 2% its going to be a bloodbath for Rs nationally.

There is no denying the fact that the economy is booming under Trump. Historically, the House flips, but I think the Republicans will maintain the majority. Key races with Dem incumbents are loosing ground to Republicans already! Don't see a "blue wave".

Huh? What races are those? I'm seeing a strong Dem showing so far.

What race in Indiana are you looking at? I see more red than blue! District 3 is matching 2016 levels.

I would be shocked if he won it by more than 2-4.
