Unless Obama picks a VP like Jim Webb, I don't think McCain has to do much to court the NRA vote.

Very true and Webb might just be on the ticket with him. He neutralizes McCain with the NRA vote and he to is a vet.

It would definitely make me reconsider Obama. He's got appeal to the Reagan Democrats as well, having served in the Reagan administration. Him and Obama would have a lot of differences in policy, though - I think he would have to bite his tongue a lot - though he would probably be willing to do it for the VP spot and possible shot at President later on.
