It is only related to a particular race if you believe it is. And it is only nasty if you believe it is. When referred to as a "cracker" by other races, I chuckle. So what? Do what you do and do it well, the rest won't matter because you will have proven yourself to you. Don't dip to their level and confirm it.

I'm curious how the rest of you feel about this...
Well, this is MHO. First off, where is there empirical evidence that 70 percent or more blacks voting for Obama is racist and 70 or more whites voting against him is racist? It seems like people are assuming this to be the case and they are stating their opinions based on the numbers, without really knowing why the numbers are the way they are. I think that above quote is an assumption.

Given the history of this country, I have no doubt that SOME whites will never vote for Obama simply because he is black. Anyone who thinks there is no truth to this, has their head in the sand. Some doesn't mean most; it means some.

And to be fair, there will also be a SOME blacks that will vote for Obama just because he is black. For the same reason; history. But again, some means some, NOT most.

I think the real deal is that most of the whites voting against Obama have their reasons and it has nothing to do with race. Maybe they wouldn't vote for a democrat, regardless of race, in the general election. I don't know. And conversely, most of the blacks that are voting for Obama are doing so for the same reasons they voted overwhelmingly for Bill Clinton back in the 90s. He's a democrat, they like him and most blacks vote democrat.

I am not sure why the media or certain segments of society wants to insert race into the equation and we the populace believe it. Sure, race is a factor for some, but not all. As an American, I think its pretty insulting to assume that Obama has made it this far because of blacks voting for him like mindless zombies and that most whites are horriblely racist at their core and will never vote for him. These are awful things to think about people. I mean a few people state their opinion about something and suddenly its a cold hard fact. Incredible.
