If this kind of spending is what we are in for when the democrats take over it will be sad time in American history.

The democrat lead bill was massive. They even wanted to spend more than BUSH.
Quote:
Bush claimed the legislation was too expensive and too generous with subsidies for farmers who are enjoying record high prices and incomes. He had opposed the legislation from the start, threatening his first veto last July.
This is change we can believe in.

Another sad day to be a fiscal conservative.

$290 Billion spent here is better than $600 Billion in Iraq.

No contest.

And Bush is one to talk about being too generous to farmers when he had no problem doling out subsidies to his cronies in the oil industry-this despite record profits. $47 Billion last year at Exxon alone.

Puhleeze.

Nice attitude. Spend it because Bush spent. I guess you missed they increased spending on a program even farmers are doing THE BEST they have ever done.

It is spending to spend.

In the Senate 34 Reps voted for this. Yep - definitely this is all the fault of the Dems . . .

The new tax and give away democrats will further destroy the entire country.

They believe in low wages, no jobs, welfare and taxes. They hate those who give us good paying jobs, hate anyone who makes decent money, love losers on welfare and love to raise your taxes so you wont have any extra money left over.

Wait and see, if Obama or Hillary get the Presidency and the congress stays in the democrats control you will see an total meltdown of our economy, higher taxes, less or more expensive oil, more terrorist problems and of course they will then go backwards and blame Bush for anything and everything.

For some reason this new democrat party seems to not be able to handle failure all to well, as least they want own up to it that they are a disaster of a group.

We will need gods help if we have a dem controlled congress and a dem President. Write everything down because if you think it is bad now wait and see what they have in store for you.

I am totally ashamed that I am a registered democrat. Not any more. Now the people in my neighborhood wont be cracking jokes at me because they are all republicans.

* By the way, I agree with the above, Bush has done extremely well with the economy, I dont like allot of what he has done but with 9/11, Katrina and all the other disasters and problems we have had he has done a very good job. No dem could have done any better.

National debt thanks to Bush is now over 9 trillion

Here's a counter for the money spent in Iraq:

Curiously enough, if oil prices were 'accurate', oil companies wouldn't make a penny more than they usually do. Too bad Exxon doesn't share some of that money, can you image what all they could do with it?

That's a different topic though, and I won't get into that.

No, but its a bit disingenous of Bush to call anyone out on being too generous about anything? Dont you think?

God told Bush to veto it. Satan made Congress override it ... well, that's probably what Wonderboy thinks.
