The story is flawed, please try to find a credible story.

"Then, over the next year, Enron – with Gramm’s wife Wendy serving on its board of directors – worked to create false electricity shortages in California, bilking consumers out of an estimated $40 billion."

Um.. California had electrical shortages.. Remember the brown outs they were having. Blackouts and Brownouts (Electrical) - News - Times Topics - The New York Times - Narrowed by 'CALIFORNIA'

"But the aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity"

Ahh yes.. they always speak on anonymity.. another word for... believe the story if you want, because half of what begins with "condition of anonymity" is made up..

Also, whats electrical energy have to do with a "farming bill" to begin with?

Spending Bills can have all sorts of thing attached to them, things that have nothing to do with the title of the bill.

And as far as the California Energy Fiasco, its well documented by now that there was collusion to manipulate the electricity market here. There is no doubt at all about that.

Her voted aginst the farm bill because it is a pork fat bill for farmers and land owners. There are peole getting more than a million that are not farmers just because they won land. Also there is no justifcation to increase the money spent when farmers are doing so well. Add all the breaks they get from the feds to the staes and local governamnt and they are one of teh biggest welfare special interest froups around. Same reason they had to veride the veto. They have democrats and some republicans in their hip poicket.

Yes, I know all about the things that get attached to bills that shouldnt belong. Part of whats wrong with the current way Congress operates.

maybe he voted no because the "farm bill" has not much to do with farming as it does for food stamps and wic. most of the money squanderd inthe farm bill does not even cover farmers.
