Okay - honestly I cannot get jazzed up about any of the candidates .. this is the best America has to offer right now?

McCain - a tad too old. His views of the world are old school.

Hillary - a repeat of the Clinton administration which if you liked - then this is the person for you. If you didn't like that administration - well then probably need to look elsewhere

Obama - too young and inexperienced. He is promising stuff that is almost impossible to deliver. He is preaching to a desperate nation -- he is a great orator but President -- not quite ready.

So my question is this - are most Americans disillusioned with our selection this year? Of course, people love to throw race into the issue and make the assumption that most African-Americans will vote for Obama solely by virtue of the fact that he is African-American. I don't believe this - yes of course some people will (that happens across all races) but I don't believe all will. I like to believe that judgement and personal decision-making will override race in a person's choices. So are there African-Americans on this board who DO NOT plan to vote for Obama who would like to share their reasons as to why they don't support him?

Ron Paul would have been a better choice

McCain, I do not see age as an issue. His thoughts are old world though.

Clinton, it wil be Bill running the show, so no thanks.

Obama, again, I do not see what age has to do and what the heck not experienced enough means. People are yacking about old Washington but yet want to shy away from someone that has not been in the mix for a long time? I have seen many incompentent people in Washington that have been there for many, many years.

I would vote for a guy working at McDonalds if I thought he was the best candidate.

Ron Paul has great ideas, but he just can not deliver, if some smooth talker like Mitt was talking those same ideas up, he would have been still in the race.

But it has been pretty much proven that the majority of Americans can not comprehend any real issue or extreme view. They will vote for whoever gives the most hollowest and non-extreme answer on an issue. Plus for some reason many Americans just love harping all over non-issue things.

The Democratic candidate will deliver the following:

- A national health insurance program
- Liberal Federal judges
- Expansion of federal benefits programs
- Cutbacks in military spending
- Termination of missile defense spending
- Withdrawal from Iraq

The Republican candidate will deliver the following:

- Tax credits for health insurance
- Conservative Federal judges
- Status quo on federal programs
- Increases in military spending
- Continuation of missile defense spending
- Continuation of presence in Iraq

How you vote could depend on your positions on these issues.

Obama already has people in mind for Federal Judges and they are not "flaming liberal" but moderate such as David Souter. And yes hopefully he will get us the hell OUT of Iraq and cut back on military spending. We have other needs.

Kinda curious what you're referring to here. It's a good way to look at the issues... and I think we should discuss, specifically, what promises have been made that are hard to believe.

BTW, before we get started let's acknowledge that all candidates "promise stuff that is impossible to deliver." Hillary is down in Puerto Rico right now, promising to make statehood for PR one of her top priorities.

She even said she would like to accomplish statehood in her first year of administration. Politicians say that sort of thing.

Just listening to him - he is a preacher and not a politician. Preachers inspire their congregation which is exactly what Obama does but I don't think he has an idea what he is actually promising to his flock -- it is rampant with inexperience.

Bill Richardson was my first choice. But Obama will do just fine, thank you.

It's funny how Puerto Ricans have voted against statehood the last three times it has come up, but good ol' Hill will get that done for them in the first year.
