I think he should have gone..Demonstrating that two political opponents can be friendly towards each other sets a great example in my opinion. I'm not Obama supporter (not a McCain supporter either) but I like to think it is better if parties collaborate instead of alienate each other.

You should read a bit about McCain and his heroism. The troops admire him greatly. You must know this, but it bothers you because it makes Obama look like an empty suit.

If Obama supporter our troops and WAS a real man and leader he would have already thought of it himself.

Bad move on his part. He just proved he is not a leader and is a weakling.
I agree. It is apparent that he just wants to stick his fingers over his eyes and in his hears and say - the surge is not working, not working, not working, we have lost, we have lost , we have lost.

He doesn't want to go over there because then he won't have to admit HE WAS WRONG in his judgement about the surge, he won't have to see the progress and then try and come back to the US and stick to his mantra of get the troops out - no matter the progress being made.

This is going to hurt him badly.

He is a weak, cowardly, pacifist without the character to admit he was wrong.

His charade is going to get funnier and funnier as things continue to progress there and he still tries to convince people that the right thing to do is get out - now, that we have lost and there is no hope.

“One of the worst disasters in our nation’s history became one of the biggest disasters in Bush’s presidency. Katrina and the botched federal response to it would largely come to define Bush’s second term,” he writes. “And the perception of this catastrophe was made worse by previous decisions President Bush had made, including, first and foremost, the failure to be open and forthright on Iraq and rushing to war with inadequate planning and preparation for its aftermath.”

Out of the mouth of Scott McCellan former Bush press secretary from his book to be released next week.

It's only "bullying" if Obama is viewed as a weakling. So you must think he is a weakling, right? What a wonderful quality for a prez.

The middle-aged white men who tell Obama what to say and think are terrified that if the trip to Iraq goes, McCain will look presidential and confident while Obama looks like the kind of man that's there to cater a vegan lunch.

And since Iraq is just like Viet Nam, it's quite possible that Commander Barry could get his azz fragged in country and Hillary would become president.

scary monsters, super freaks
