It's not silliness, given the importance of the job. I remain troubled both by Mr. Obama's lack of candor and some of his supporters' near-hysterical aversion to any criticism of him.
I also dispute your view of "uneducated people." After all, many of the posters on this board who display at least normal intelligence seem to hold religous belief as a form of mental illness disqualifying anyone from leadership. Surely you do not mean to imply that these folks are "uneducated"....
Having made those points, though, I agree with much of the rest of what you say. I would certainly prefer a virtuous Muslim president over an evil Christian one.

A president who actually busts his hump on the job, a true public servant, immediately qualifies him for anyone with half a brain, regardless of their particular brand of faith.
In the end, Christianity/Islam/Judiasm don't matter if we drown in our debt. Bottom line: there are many other more troubling matters to deal with than getting caught up in someone's faith and perceived morality.
Perhaps the harsh names I called in my original response to the OP message is what caused my response to be removed. However, I wish to re-state (hopefully in language that won't cause it to be removed) that, although I will not be voting for McCain and am not a McCain supporter, I think it is terribly, terribly wrong to use his courageous service to our country as a way to smear him.

There were koran studies at the private school that Obama went to, yes, but those classes were VOLUNTARY, and he DID NOT GO TO KORAN CLASS. Why? Because he wasn't muslim!...ohh, and the same school, that CNN did a piece on, also has and always had BIBLE STUDY classes too. Why didn't you mention that?

I think we're going to see more and more of the "uneducated people" routine.
It dovetails quite nicely with the "cling to their guns, religion.....". That seems to be a hardwired belief.
Also, they don't want to wear out the ""if you don't vote for him you're a racist" routine.
