Amid all the speculation and wishful thinking, of a potential divided Democratic party hurting Obama, a new Diageo/Hotline (http://www.diageohotlinepoll.com/08_Jun_Data.pdf - broken link) poll shows something really interesting....of the two presumptive nominees, it's McCain, much more than Obama, who is having a problem with party unity.

Democrats satisfied with Obama as nominee

Yes-68%
Prefer someone else-30%

Republicans satisfied with McCain as nominee

Yes-52%
Prefer someone else-45%

Shocking....Obama is a liberal through and through that tows the party line. McCain is a conservativ, but is willing to buck the party when he thinks they are wrong.

Wait til the Repubs select the running mate for McC. This will change. It's still pretty early for that poll.

Not so, McCain has
flip flopped on every major issue to put himself in line with the party. The maverick and the straight talk express no longer exists.

so one is a flip-flopper, and the other is a slave to moveon.org. I see no difference. they are both slaves to who writes the paychecks.

You may not agree with the views of Obama, but at least he hasn't changed his mind on virtually every major issue. McCain's flip flopping, for the sake of political expediency, is not only disappointing but it indicates a man with distinct character flaws.

he doesn't have any views, that's my point. his views come from a political machine. they aren't views of his own, his puppet strings are being pulled. he's a politician who cares only about himself.
