This is great news for second amendment supporters like me

At least some form of liberty lives!!!!!! Disturbing about the 5-4 decision though.

Court rules in favor of Second Amendment gun right - Yahoo! News (broken link)

Question is how this may play out in the general election? Especially in light of the fact that the next president will probably nominate the next two or so supreme court justices. Second amendment advocates may have won the battle, but the real war rages on.

Bar none. It's Bob Barr for president 08

I don't even have to guess who voted to uphold the ban. God help us if Obama gets in and plants more of the same like Ginsberg, Stevens, Breyer and Souter.

I'd like to know exactly what are these 4 reading other than our constitution to make their decisions. I know Stevens said he looks OUTSIDE, at FOREIGN law to make some of his decisions.

Default Supreme Court finds individual right to own guns

Yessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, for the first time in U.S. history, that individual Americans have the right to own guns for personal use, and struck down a strict gun control law in the nation's capital.

The landmark 5-4 ruling marked the first time in nearly 70 years the high court has addressed whether the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, rather than a right tied to service in a state militia.

Anyone know where the candidates stood on this issue? I just heard someone comment that Obama is entitled to security but he didnt want the rest of america to have guns. I am curious where Obama stood on it because I dont want to take someones comment I heard as fact. Anyone know?
