Congressmen and Senators regardless of party look for the day when circumstances break for them and they can run for President. Some spend their entire careers in the legislature with the opportunity never presenting itself. They serve there constituents and try to do whats best for the people who elected them in a life long career of public service.

The last thing a seasoned tenured career poitician wants to see is some wet behind the ears, slick talkin, freshman waltz into the whitehouse having never paid any dues. While they are obligated by party unity to endorse their candidate, envy and jealously know, no, party lines.
