Why Would Barack Obama Try To Stall Our Troop Withdrawal From Iraq? I thought he wanted our troops out immediately. Is Obama trying to PLAY politics with our troops' lives...

OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL
SEN. BARACK OBAMA WANTS TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ, BUT WANTS A DELAY IN NEGOTIATIONS FOR REMOVAL - New York Post
WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Because he wants all the withdrawal done under HIS administration.
If it's done under BUSH then it was bush's doing and not Obama's.

Poor Obama wants credit!! Boo hoo

Because he didn't. As your own quote points out, if the story is true, Obama was urging the Iraqis to delay the Status of Forces Agreement which is about a lot more than just troop withdrawals.

For most folks this is a simple issue but I realize for some simple is too complex.
