But settle down, little ones; listen to Walid and try to focus on the issues.
Or it could be that they've fallen for some kind of rumor that mimics the plot of Desperate Housewives. For those that haven't seen the show, one of the main character's daughters gets pregnant and the mother sends her away to have the baby. The mother then fakes a pregnancy and pretends it's her own child.

Regardless of who made this story up, the dems would be wise to distance themself from this as fast as they can. This is going to backfire, imho.

Then she has to explain issues of judgement and why if leaking fluid she left Texas to fly to Alaska and instead of going to a major hospital chose to go to a smaller hospital in her home town.

Choice stuns state politicians: Politics | adn.com
Former House Speaker Gail Phillips, a Republican political leader who has clashed with Palin in the past, was shocked when she heard the news Friday morning with her husband, Walt.

"I said to Walt, 'This can't be happening, because his advance team didn't come to Alaska to check her out," Phillips said.

The rumors are from Alaska and if they had vetted her they would have known and had explainations ready for why events unfolded the way they did.

Palins' child diagnosed with Down syndrome: Top Stories | adn.com

Her version may be very believable and acceptable but it raised issues then with her daughter being out of school for months at the same time and if she had been vetted it would have been contained right away.

Thus it becomes for some an issue of judgment in her decision to fly back and not go to the closest major medical center.

Oh believe me, we're looking at the politics too. Especially her platform of strong family values and her staunch pro-life stance.

Having your amniotic water leak is NOT an emergency unless you plan to take a dip in a sewer or something. Women who homebirth often go 24 hours+ after their water has broken. Just because modern medicine calls something an emergency doesn't mean it is.

Also, 36 weeks is considered full term, not a "preemie." A woman can homebirth safely at 37 weeks.

Good points and if she had been appropriately vetted there would not be the room for specualtion how ever remember there are medical authorities in the article who disagree.

Good point, Island Mommy. And I'm sure the Governor called her OB and obtained his professional advice before she flew home.

This conspiracy theory crap about her daughter being the true mother is just . . . insane! I guess I shouldn't expect more from the party of Troofers.
