The 17 year old daughter is going to be on the news for the next 3 months, her friends are going to be followed and badgered by the media, Sarah Palin's life is going to be turned inside out as is the husbands and daughters and you say "he can handle it"?
Very well said..
I just cannot imagine my husband handling all this overwhelming responsibility - and he's a good, kind dad (and loving new grandfather)..
Palin may be a Super Mom but is her husband a Super Dad? If not, then there are sure to be minor and major problems cropping up in her personal life --- which could then affect her public work life --- and all of US!
You don't have to be a (potential) future, female VP - anyone who's been a mom can attest to this as a very real possibility...

Exactly.

I thought we were moving past the caveman mentality in this country. I guess not.

The VP position isn't exactly taxing. The only official duties as defined in the Constituion are to serve as president of the Senate (and even this can be handed off to a pro tempore) and to assume the presidency should the president die. That's it. Throw in a few diplomatic dinners, a state funeral here and there, and that's pretty much it. I think Sarah can handle it.
Well, she certainly would bring the change that we all keep talking about, wouldn't she?
Maybe my perspective is too limited, but every time I go back and look at this (broken link), my stomach gets queasy at the thought of this person representing me and my country.
I was hoping for a little bit more gravitas, ya know?
Maybe she can simultaneously lead our country, raise all those kids, be a grandma and still have time for a candlelit dinner with her husband.
But I can't help but feel skeptical.
